It’s not about the new things 2026 has to offer, but about re-adjusting your view. Not everything needs to be new, but everything needs to be renewed: your mind, your heart, and your view in this new year. Don’t get consumed in the obsession for novelty. It is a shiny feeling that quickly fades. The high that we feel quickly turns into a new hunger to consume even more.

Today, we consume not only things themselves but also the emotions that are bound up with things.”

  • Byung-Chul Han

If we consider all that we have, we might find enough to start this 2026 with.

“You cannot consume things endlessly, but emotions you can.”

  • Byung-Chul Han

Contrary to what we might think, endless consumption will not lead to satiation. The more we stop to think, ponder, or meditate on the daily bread we do receive, the fuller we will be. The more we work with what we already have, the richer we will be.

In this first month of 2026, may we:

  • Rediscover truth.

  • Rework what’s in our hands.

  • Refine what we have to offer.

Some of the greatest moments of joy in the Bible come from moments when something that was lost is found. The lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son are all welcomed back with great rejoicing.

Rejoice, because there is something to rediscover in 2026!
